Nine died in a crash in Wisconsin between a truck and a van

Officials reported that nine individuals lost their lives following a collision between a van and a tractor-trailer at an intersection on a Wisconsin state highway on Friday.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office disclosed that the fatal accident occurred when a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Highway 95 collided with a van traveling northbound on County Road J in Dewhurst Township.

The sheriff's office provided limited additional information regarding the circumstances of the crash.

“We aren’t releasing any names or details of the investigation at this time pending notification of family members and the conclusion of the investigation,” the sheriff’s office said in an earlier statement.

As a result of the incident, the highway remained inaccessible at J. Dewhurst Township is located approximately 145 miles east of Minneapolis.
