According to a humanitarian organization, Gaza City's second-largest hospital was advised to flee before a potential bombardment
The Israeli military has warned the Palestine Red Crescent Society to evacuate Gaza City's second-largest hospital, Al-Quds, right away due to a potential bombardment, the organization said on Sunday.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have urged residents of Gaza to evacuate south of Wadi Gaza, where the hospital is situated. Wadi Gaza is located in Gaza City's Tal Al Hawa neighborhood.
A statement from the Palestinian Red Crescent stated that it "has just received a new threat by the Israeli Authorities this morning, ordering the team to evacuate Al-Quds Hospital immediately."
"Two phone calls were received, with a clear and direct threat, that the hospital must be evacuated at once, otherwise PRCS holds full responsibility for the lives of everyone inside the hospital," the company stated.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organization, called the threat of evacuation "extremely concerning."
