According to Qatar, an agreement has been reached to extend the truce by two days

Qatar's foreign ministry announced on Monday on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, that an agreement had been reached to extend the truce in the Gaza Strip for an additional two days.

According to a source close to the situation, the announcement comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Qatar's Prime Minister on Monday.

Egypt had previously stated that efforts were being made to extend the pause by two days.

Hamas said it had reached an agreement with Qatar and Egypt to extend the cease-fire for another two days "under the same conditions as before."
