Palestine health ministry reports 112 civilians murdered in northern Gaza while waiting for aid
On Thursday, the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza revised the death toll to a minimum of 112 following an incident where Israeli troops discharged firearms as individuals awaited food and assistance in the northern region of Gaza. The ministry also reported 760 individuals sustaining injuries.
Later on Thursday, Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations, informed journalists that the death toll had escalated to as much as 122. Mansour strongly denounced the "appalling massacre" at the aid location and reiterated the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, asserted that Israeli tanks issued warning shots to scatter a crowd surrounding an aid convoy after observing individuals in the crowd being trampled.
