Elon Musk demands Bob Iger ‘be fired’ after Disney pulled X ads

Elon Musk, the owner of X, unleashed a tirade on Thursday against Iger, the CEO of Disney, accusing him of making the decision to remove ads from his vulnerable social media platform and saying that Iger ought to be fired.

“He should be fired immediately,” Musk, who often uses his influential perch to bully critics and others, wrote about Iger on the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Walt Disney is turning in his grave over what Bob has done to his company.”

Disney, along with many other large corporations, ceased running advertisements on X last month after Musk approved of a conspiracy theory that is antisemitic and well-liked by White nationalists. After a wave of businesses severed ties with X due to the post last week, Musk issued a mildly profane apology while also sending a message to businesses that choose not to buy advertisements on his social media network.

The choice to remove the ads was made in line with a larger social media website trend. Numerous choices made by Musk since assuming control in late 2022 have led to an increase in hate speech, false information, and conspiracy theories on the platform.
