‘Bridget Jones’ returns with Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant

According to a press release, the two-time Oscar winner is set to take on a role in "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy," a film adaptation of Helen Fielding's acclaimed 2014 novel of the same title.

Hugh Grant, known for his portrayal of Daniel Cleaver in the 2001 hit "Bridget Jones's Diary" and its 2004 sequel "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," will be making a comeback to the franchise alongside Renée Zellweger in "Mad About the Boy."

Also returning to the franchise is Emma Thompson, who previously appeared as Dr. Rawlings in "Bridget Jones's Baby" and contributed as a writer to the film. Joining the cast are newcomers Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, known for his role in "White Lotus."

Fielding's novel "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" picks up the story 14 years after Bridget Jones secures Mark Darcy, portrayed in the films by Academy Award winner Colin Firth, according to the official synopsis of the book.

The film "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" is scheduled to premiere internationally in theaters and on Peacock in the US on February 14, 2025.
