Vince McMahon is facing new legal allegations of trafficking former WWE employees

A former WWE employee has lodged serious allegations against the company's founder, Vince McMahon, including accusations of sexual assault, trafficking, and physical abuse. The lawsuit was filed on Thursday by Janel Grant, who was employed at WWE's headquarters.

These disturbing claims surface over a year after the conclusion of a WWE-conducted special committee investigation into McMahon's alleged misconduct during his tenure as chairman and CEO of the company. McMahon stepped down from his position amidst the investigation in July 2022 but has since resumed his role as chair of WWE's parent company.

In her lawsuit filed in a Connecticut district court, Grant asserts that McMahon offered her a job and subsequent promotions at WWE in exchange for sexual favors. She also accuses McMahon of trafficking her to other men, both within and outside the company, with former wrestler John Laurinaitis, who worked in the talent relations department, also named as a defendant. The Wall Street Journal initially reported on the lawsuit.

Following the conclusion of her employment and their alleged sexual relationship, McMahon purportedly coerced Grant into signing a non-disclosure agreement in exchange for payments totaling $3 million over several years, as per the lawsuit.

In response, WWE's parent company, TKO Group Holdings, stated that McMahon does not have control over TKO or oversee WWE's day-to-day operations. McMahon, along with WWE and UFC, announced the formation of TKO in April 2023.

"While this matter predates our TKO executive team's tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant's horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally," a TKO spokesperson remarked in a statement.
