Cher requests Elijah Blue Allman's conservatorship
Citing his alleged continuous substance abuse issues, Cher has filed for a temporary legal conservatorship over her adult son Elijah Blue Allman.
based on a petition that was submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court this week. Cher claims that her son "is currently unable to manage his assets due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues" and is requesting to be the only conservator of his estate.
The documents state that "Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from the Trust, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues." "Petitioner [Cher] is worried that any money given to Elijah will be used for drugs right away, depriving Elijah of resources to support himself and endangering his life."
The 47-year-old is the child of late rock star Gregg Allman, who was also married to Cher.
Cher and Gregg Allman were wed from 1975 until 1979. He passed away from complications from liver cancer in 2017 at the age of 69.
Chaz Bono's mother is Cher as well.
