Players accused of exposing themselves to sports psychologists are suspended by the NBA
Joshua Primo was given a four-game suspension without pay by the NBA on Friday for “conduct detrimental to the league” after a league investigation found that “Primo engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women.”
“The league conducted its own investigation and consulted with relevant experts,” the NBA said. After that, the league determined Primo exposed himself to ladies in an unacceptable and insulting manner.
Primo denies intentional misbehavior, and the league found no evidence of sexual or other impropriety beyond these brief exposures. However, this action violates league rules and requires discipline.”
After a former Spurs sports psychologist accused Primo of misconduct, the Spurs terminated his contract in October. A psychologist claims the athlete exposed himself to her during therapy.
At the time of the claims, Primo's lawyer said that the accusations were not true.
In November 2022, the psychologist sued the Spurs for failing to act on her “numerous complaints about Primo’s improper sexual conduct.” Her attorney said the lawsuit was settled in November.
