The UK and the island of Ireland will host Euro 2028, while Turkey and Italy will co-host the 2032 edition

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin announced on Tuesday that the UK and Republic of Ireland will co-host Euro 2028, with Italy and Turkey hosting the 2032 European Championships.

The UK and Ireland bid went unopposed after Turkey withdrew to co-host Euro 2032 with Italy.

Euro 2028 will be held in 10 venues: six in England, one in Wales, one in Scotland, one in Northern Ireland, and one in Ireland.

Wales' Principality Stadium, London's Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, Newcastle's St. James' Park, Birmingham's Villa Park, Glasgow's Hampden Park, and Dublin's Aviva Stadium are bid sites.

The Football Association, English football's governing body, estimates that three million tickets will be available for the 2028 tournament, more than ever before.

After initially competing with the UK and Ireland, Turkey switched to the 2032 edition with Italy as the sole bidder last week.

Italy hosted the European Championship in 1968 and 1980.

Italy will defend its European Championship title in Germany next year.
