Officials say an Alaskan plane crashes into a river
Alaska state troopers reported that a Douglas DC-4 aircraft plunged into the Tanana River near Fairbanks this Tuesday.
The authorities disclosed that the plane, carrying two individuals, met with tragedy with no survivors located.
According to troopers' latest update, the Douglas DC-4 crashed shortly after taking off at 9:55 a.m. from Fairbanks International Airport. It descended into the river approximately 7 miles south of the airport, then skidded onto a steep riverbank where it ignited, as per troopers' account.
Clint Johnson, the Alaska chief of the National Transportation Safety Board, stated that three investigators from the agency are scheduled to journey to the crash scene on Tuesday afternoon to initiate an inquiry.
