Military spokeswoman says Israel will operate in Gaza despite Hamas' response to deal

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is "examining every response," but Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip are continue, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Monday when asked if Hamas' response to the deal would modify Israel's intentions for Rafah.

According to Hagari, the Israeli air force hit around 50 targets in the Rafah area throughout the day.

In preparation for a ground attack, the IDF is evacuating communities in eastern Rafah and enlarging the humanitarian zone in Al Mawasi and Khan Younis, according to Hagari.

He noted that Israel was making every effort in the negotiations to send the captives home as soon as possible, which was the "central mission."
