Hezbollah's entry into the war would be "devastating" for Lebanon, the Israeli prime minister warns
The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has threatened to cripple Hezbollah "with a force (it) cannot even imagine" if it chooses to join the conflict.
Netanyahu declared on Sunday, while visiting troops in the north, "And the meaning for (Hezbollah) and for the state of Lebanon will be devastating, but we are prepared for any scenario."
With its primary base near the border between Israel and Lebanon, the group has the potential to flare up a wider regional conflict or act as a wild card in the Hamas-Israel war.
Regarding Hezbollah's potential to support the Palestinians in the conflict between Hamas and Israel, this is still unknown. A multifront conflict that would thrust the Middle East into uncharted territory with unpredictable consequences would result from Hezbollah joining the war.
