Israel announces the death of the Hamas commander who oversaw a massacre on an Israeli kibbutz and hamlet

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), commonly known as Shin Bet, said in a joint statement on Tuesday that the Hamas leader who oversaw the October 7 attack in the Israeli kibbutz of Erez and the community of Netiv HaAsara was killed on Monday.

According to combined IDF-ISA intelligence, IDF jets targeted Nasim Abu Ajina, the leader of Hamas's Northern Brigade's Beit Lahia Battalion.

In addition, he oversaw Hamas' Aerial Array and contributed to the development of paragliders and unmanned aerial vehicles.

His passing will make it more difficult for Hamas to "disrupt the IDF's ground activities," according to the statement.
