The Israel Prison Service reports that 30 Palestinians have been freed from Israeli jails

According to a statement from the Israeli prison service, thirty Palestinians were freed on Wednesday from Israeli jails located in Damon, Megiddo, Ofer, Nafha, Ktzi'ot, Ramon, and Ohalay Kedar.

Among those freed was well-known Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi. In 2017, Tamimi became well-known after an online video of her slapping an Israeli soldier went viral.

Israel is required by the terms of the Israel-Hamas truce agreement to release three Palestinians for each Israeli hostage that it releases.

Ten Israeli nationals, some of whom hold dual citizenship, were among the 16 hostages freed on Wednesday as a result of the Israel-Hamas truce agreement.

Four Thai and two Israeli-Russian citizens were freed outside the terms of the agreement.
