39 Palestinian inmates were released Saturday under Israel-Hamas accord

Palestinians have gathered in front of the Al-Bireh municipality building in the occupied West Bank, close to Ramallah. It is anticipated that some of the 39 detainees and inmates that Israel freed as part of an agreement with Hamas will come soon.

All 39 of them were released from their jails earlier on Saturday, according to confirmation from the Israeli Prison Authority. The prisons are located in the West Bank at Ofer and in Israel at Danon and Megiddo.

Six of those are female, while 33 are teenage boys.

According to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, three teenagers were shot and injured with live ammunition earlier on Saturday night close to the Ofer jail.
