Chrysler has announced a recall, for than 211,000 SUVs and pickup trucks due to an issue with the anti lock braking system (ABS) software that could deactivate the electronic stability control systems in the vehicles.

The Durango, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 models made in 2022 are among the Dodge automobiles covered by the recall.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has discovered a flaw in the lock braking control that might result in the stability control failing increasing the risk of accidents.

According to NHTSA reports there is a chance that the ABS control module could malfunction, affecting braking performance and potentially disabling the stability control system posing a crash risk. Stellantis is handling this matter by updating the software of the ABS control module.

Car dealers will carry out updates on the ABS module software without any charge, to vehicle owners.

Notification letters will be sent to owners starting about July 26.
