Pre-sales for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour film set new highs at AMC Theatres
More than a month before its scheduled October 13 release, Taylor Swift's concert movie has already shattered box office records. With $26 million in advance ticket sales on Thursday, the concert movie of the singer's Eras Tour "shattered records for single-day advance ticket sales revenue," according to AMC Theaters.
AMC stated in a statement that it broke the previous record held by "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which sold $16.9 million worth of tickets in a single day before its release in 2021.
Less than three hours after tickets went on sale, Swift's movie shattered the day record, prompting the theater chain to announce that it would add additional showtimes whenever possible.
