2 killed, suspect dead in school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, police say
A shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, killed two individuals and left a suspect dead on Monday morning.
The suspect in the school shooting has also died, according to authorities.
Just before 11 a.m., Madison police responded to a gunshot at the private school at 4901 East Buckeye Road. There was a considerable police presence at the school, with many emergency vehicles in the parking area.
Police reported two persons were killed in the incident, while six others were injured. Near the end of a media conference, Madison Chief of Police Shon F. Barnes stated that four individuals had been murdered, but later clarified that there were just two casualties.
“This is an ever-evolving situation,” Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said at the news conference. “So there’s a lot of work that has to be done, and we’re committed to doing that work. We just ask for your patience.”
Barnes declined to provide any information on whether the victims were teachers or pupils until families were notified.

Police stated the scene is still active, and the investigation is ongoing. The school has been cleared, and the FBI is cooperating with local authorities.

Officials are seeking to reconnect students and their parents. The school serves around 390 students in grades kindergarten through twelve.
