Police say a suspect is dead after a shooting at a mental health facility in New Hampshire
Authorities reported that "multiple victims" and a dead shooter were the outcomes of Friday's shooting at a mental health facility in New Hampshire.
“While the scene remains active as the campus is cleared, the suspect is deceased. The state immediately mobilized, and first responders and law enforcement are on the scene.” said in a statement by Governor Chris Sununu. As this situation develops, we'll give as much information as we can.
State police said there were “multiple victims” in an alert released via social media late Friday afternoon, but did not give a number and did not say if any had died.
The only adult state-run mental hospital in the state is New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, which has about 185 beds.
Police reported at a late-Friday press briefing that all patients were safe and that the gunfire was limited to the front lobby.
