Rep. Grijalva reports cancer diagnosis

On Tuesday, Arizona Democratic Rep. Raúl Grijalva revealed he was diagnosed with cancer after seeking treatment for a chronic cough.

“A few weeks ago, I sought medical treatment for a persistent cough which was initially diagnosed as pneumonia. After further testing and imaging, my physician discovered that I have cancer,” he said in a statement.

Grijalva says he is "confident in the vigorous course of treatment that my medical team has developed, and I’ve begun my journey to fight this cancer.”

He reassures constituents that his congressional office remains operational, with uninterrupted services for the people of Arizona. Despite undergoing treatment, he maintains regular communication with his staff and continues his duties as a Representative, emphasizing the seriousness with which he approaches his role in serving the community.
