Rapper Travis Scott detained for disorderly intoxication in Miami Beach
Early Thursday, rapper Travis Scott was taken into custody in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of disorderly intoxication after he was reportedly shouting at people on a yacht.
The 33-year-old artist, known for his hit "goosebumps" and whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. He faced charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing after ignoring a warning.
The arrest followed a police response to a disturbance call at the Miami Beach Marina, where dispatch had received reports of a fight on a yacht. According to the arrest affidavit from the Miami Beach Police, Scott disregarded commands from the police to cease his disruptive behavior. He escalated the situation by acting erratically and resumed yelling, "disturbing the peace of the marina occupants and nearby residential areas."
Scott was officially arrested at 1:17 a.m. He later confessed to consuming alcohol and remarked, “It’s Miami.”
Jail records indicate that a $650 bond was posted for his release. Scott was released from jail at 8 a.m. Thursday, according to records from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
This incident occurs just days before Scott is scheduled to begin his European tour, Circus Maximus, in The Netherlands the following Friday.
