Marcus Rashford is not included on England's preliminary Euro 2024 roster

Forward Marcus Rashford was the most notable omission as England football manager Gareth Southgate announced his provisional Euro 2024 squad on Tuesday, with experienced midfielder Jordan Henderson also absent.

Southgate is set to trim the squad to 26 players by June 7.

The omission of Rashford, who has 60 caps and 17 goals, to his name was a surprise given his contributions. Similarly Hendersons absence raised eyebrows due to his experience and previous involvement in tournaments.

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Rashford, 26, scored three goals out of his 60 caps. With just seven Premier League goals for Manchester United this season, he has, however, battled with form.
